Those of you that voted for the Democrat Party in the last election – did you vote for this?
Our government directly controls our auto industry, and is telling it how to run its business.
Our government directly controls our largest banks (and many small ones) and will do the same to them.
This government is the most political one in a long time, meaning that the government will be manipulated as much as possible for the benefit of the 52.9% of the people that voted for this administration and against the interests of the 45.6 percent that did not. The administration regularly attacks those it disagrees with, and they do it in a very ugly manner.
“Don’t think that we’re not keeping score, brother” – a remark by Obama to a Democrat politician that voted against the pork-laden phony “stimulus” bill. Chicago-style politics has arrived in Washington.
Obama’s administration refuses to accept repayment of TARP money from banks, preferring to retain control. Why??
From Bloomberg News this week: “The U.S. government and the Federal Reserve have spent or lent or committed $12.8 trillion” in new pledges. This they note is almost the value of everything the United States produced last year. The price tag comes to $42,105 for every man, woman and child in the U.S.
Personally, I abhor debt. It makes a man a slave to his debtors. Won’t it do the same thing to our country??
We have seen the political outcry against contract-guaranteed bonuses paid to AIG employees. A special (and likely illegal) tax was passed by Congress to take this money away from folks that had earned it. A contract is a contract, unless Obama doesn’t like it.
Obama wants to control how much money business people make. So…. Someone in GOVERNMENT is going to decide if you make too much money or not. Personally, my own salary is based on my set of skills and my value to my company. Donovan McNabb gets his $1.2 million base salary for the same reason. I’m sure that in the finincial industry, there are folks that are absolute financial wonders, commanding high salaries because they’re worth it. Those folks are now going to be working for HSBC instead of Citibank. One might think that our banks might need all of the help that they can get.
Just a remark here – I closed my Citibank account this year. I don’t want to do business with a bank controlled by politicians. I wouldn’t by a GM car now for the same reason.
Did we really vote for this?
The Obama administration has just started. Does anyone think that this is a good thing?
