For those of you that have missed me (Hi Mom!), I can announce that I presently find myself with time to blog again.
What’s been going on?
I’ve been busy. Really busy. My job is nuts, and has caused me a lot of anguish lately. I’m still employed – for now, anyway.
We’ve moved. Not far away from where we were, but we’re out of the city and away from our friendly neighbors in the projects. I’ll likely have more to say about that later.
The B Street mansion is up for sale – listed for about twice what I expect to get for it. I suspect that it’ll sell after a few months of steady downward price adjustments. I wish I could just skip that and get to the real price, but I’ll play the real estate agent’s game for now. They’re supposed to know what they’re doing.
Our new house renovations are about 80% complete. The kitchen is completely done – I’m really happy with it. We did extensive modifications to the upstairs bath – had to move a wall to make room for a shower, etc. Just before we left for this trip to Brasil, I was able to paint (primer coat) the dining room walls (Yippee!). There’s still much to do, but it shouldn’t be too tough.
I’m in Brasil right now, typing from the back yard of my compound, seated on a stool with the laptop resting on the countertop, very near our churrascaria (BBQ thing). My lovely brasileira wife is at the hairdresser’s making up for eight months away from her regular hair treatments. She likely won’t be back for hours.
